Signs of God’s Sovereignty for them who have sense

Signs of God’s Sovereignty for them who have sense

Surah ‘Al-Baqarah (The Cow) – Chapter – 2)
Stage – 1, Verses – 164 & 165a of 286, Section –20 of 40 (Part - 2)

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Lo! In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the   difference of night and day, and the ships which run upon the sea with that which is of use to men, and the water which Allah sendeth down from the sky, thereby reviving the earth after its death, and dispersing all kinds of beasts therein, and (in) the ordinance of the winds, and the clouds obedient between heaven and earth: are signs (of Allah’s Sovereignty) for people who have sense.
‘Inna fii khalqis-samaa-waati wal-‘arzi wakhtilaafil-layli wan-nahaari wal-fulkillatii tajrii fil-bahri bimaa yanfa-‘un-naasa wa maaa ‘anzalAllaahu minas-samaaa-‘i mim-maaa-‘in- fa-‘ahyaa bihil-‘arza ba’-da mawtihaa wa bassa fiihaa min kulli daaabbah. Wa tas-riifir-riyaahi was-sahaabil-musakh-khari baynas-samaaa-‘i wal-‘arzi la-‘Aayaatil-li-qawminy-ya’-qiluun.

Lesson

In this verse, Allah Almighty has explained uncountable signs of His power and sovereignty, so that; the mankind must think about it and admit His Deity and Highness.

Creation of the earth and the skies, circulation of the day and the night, floating of the ships and the boats in the rivers and the seas, raining from the sky, the dead land seems to be alive by the rains, wandering of the animals on the earth, subduing of the airs and the clouds between the earth and the sky, if the entire these are not the Signs of Powers and Sovereignty of God Almighty then what is this? But only those people can think about it who have sense. Any nonsense doesn’t take any lesson from anything.

And yet of mankind are some who take unto themselves (objects of worship which they set as) rivals to Allah, loving them with a love like (that which is the due) of Allah (only). And those who believe are stauncher in their love for Allah.
Wa  minannaasi  many-yattakhizu  min-  duuNIllaahi  ‘andaadany-yuhibbuunahum  ka- hubBIllaah.  Wallaziina  ‘aa- manuuu  ‘ashaddu  hubbal-LIllaah.

Lesson

‘Andaadan – (similar, matching, opposite, converse), for instance; love for Idols, statues or demi-gods etc. or leaders, landlords, spiritual guides or any priest takes place in the heart opposite to God Almighty and that love overcomes on the heart.

In the earlier verses, God Almighty has described after telling about His Deity, Beneficence and Mercy that He has created the entire Universe for the necessities of the human beings, that is to say; the earth, the skies, the day, the night, the boats, the rain, the production of the earth, the cattle, the quadruped, the air and the clouds etc. the mankind reaps advantage from these things, fulfills his needs and lives a comfortable life. He should be grateful to Allah Almighty after obtaining these blessings and favors.

Repentance! Some people forget Allah Almighty instead of being grateful to Him. They place others at the Dignity of God Almighty who bestowed them His blessings. They make them their worshiped, settle them His partners and expose their love and faith for them which was required to be kept only for God Almighty. There is recitation regarding such people in this verse.

Some stupid and un-foreseeing people include idols, demi-gods and spiritual guides in partnership with God Almighty and consider them powerful, that is to say; the Christians worship Jesus Christ and Mary (peace be upon them) along-with God Almighty. The Japanese consider their king as from the dynasty of God “I seek refuge in ALLAH from Satan the outcast”.

Allah Almighty commanded that the real love must be only for Him Who is the Creator, the Master and the Worshiped. It is the sign of a perfect Believer that he would have kept the most beloved to God Almighty; he should strengthen excessive love for Him (Allah Almighty) in his heart.

It has come in the Sayings of the Last Messenger, Muhammad (glory, grace, blessings and peace be upon Him) “The Believer is that who has friendship and enmity for God Almighty. The individual who is beloved of God Almighty and loves Him, he keeps only that person his friend, who loves Him and with whom God Almighty is angry, he considers him his enemy”.
