Advice for the People of the Scripture

Suratun-Nisaaa’  (The Women) – Chapter – 4)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

171.  O People of the Scripture! Do not exaggerate in your religion nor utter aught concerning Allah save the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, and His Word which He conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit from Him; so believe in Allah and His messengers, and say not “Three”. Cease! (it is) better for you! Allah is only One God. Far be it from His Transcendent Majesty to have a son. His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is Sufficient as Defender.
171.  Yaaa-‘ahlal-Kitaabi  laa tagluu  fii diinikum  wa  laa  taquuluu  ‘alAllaahi  ‘illal-haqq.  ‘Innamal- Masiihu  ‘Ii-sabnu- Maryama  RasuulUllaahi  wa  Kalimatuh.  ‘Alqaa-haaa  ‘ilaa  Maryama  wa  ruuhum-minh.  Fa-‘aaminuu  Billaahi  wa  RusuliH.  Wa  laa  taquuluu  Salaasah.  ‘Intahuu  khayral-lakum.  ‘Inna-mAllaahu  ‘Ilaahunw-Waahid.  Sub-haa-naHuuu  ‘any-yakuuna  laHuu  walad.  LaHuu  maa  fis-samaawaati  wa  maa  fil-‘arz.  Wa  kafaa  Billaahi  Wakiilaa.

    Commentary

‘Innamaa – (undoubtedly, certainly, without any doubt), this word is used at only such times and occasions, when and where we want to say, “No doubt, It is, the matter is only this, nothing except it”. Sub-haa-na - (Far be it, purity and separation from each type of defect and harm). That is to say; Allah Almighty is Heaven, Pure and clear from every kind of vice and loss, and due to this reason, He is also pure from being a father, which is a sign of necessity. KalimatuH  (His Word), to manifest the Desire of Allah Almighty in the form of Word.

It has been commanded by Allah Almighty that you should not exaggerate in the limits of your religion, nor utter aught concerning Him. Say only that, which His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) tells you, because that is the truth, and remaining all are false notions and absurd ideas.

The Messiah, Jesus is son of Mary (peace be upon them), He is a Word of Allah Almighty, which was conveyed unto Mary. He (peace be upon Him) is a soul out of the treasuries of the souls of Allah Almighty which was revealed towards Mary (peace be upon her) and was only a messenger of Allah Almighty.

You should believe in Allah Almighty as it is necessary, also believe in His Messengers (peace be upon Them). Do not invent such false notions as “Three Gods”. The dignity of Jesus (peace be upon Him) has been elevated by using these words, which does not have even a very little reflection of truth, whereas the Degree of Allah Almighty has been demoted too down that the sense cannot accept it.

Listen with open ears about Allah Almighty that He Alone is Worshipped of entire creatures without any partner. Far be it from His Transcendent Majesty to have a son. His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth, and the entire are under His Jurisdiction, Power and Authority.
