Renegades – rightful owners of the Fire

Renegades – rightful owners of the Fire

Surah ‘Al-Baqarah (The Cow) – Chapter – 2)
Stage – 1, Verse – 217c of 286, Section – 27 of 40 (Part - 2)

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim
In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

And they will not cease from fighting against you till they have made you renegades from your religion, if they can.
Wa  laa  yazaaluuna  yuqaatiluuna-kum  hattaa  yarud-duu-kum  an- Diinikum  ‘inis- tataa-‘uu.

Lesson

It has been cleared openly in this verse that till the time; the Muslims will stand firm on the religion of Allah Almighty, the Idolaters and Infidels will continue opposing them in all respect. They will not leave any stone unturned to humiliate in every situation and at every time, whether they get this opportunity in the limits of Haram or during any sacred month, as they committed so at the time of Hudaybiyah. At that time; they did not care for any respect and blessing, were prepared to kill or slay due to enmity and envy with the Muslims only. And they prevented the Muslims from going to Makkah and performing the Pilgrimage (Umrah). Therefore, care should not be taken if these kinds of enemies of Islam reproach and taunt the Muslims. The Muslims should not wait for killing them due to the sacred month only.

It is evident also from this verse that how much the Idolaters of Makkah were displeased from Islam and how much they were enemy of the Truth and the Just. They were insistent with every possible strength and plan that the Muslims should turn away from their religion; they were trying their best to prevent the people from embracing Islam, compel them to believe in the false and old faiths, establish them to worship the Idols, and if possible, remove the name and sign of Islam from the face of the earth.

Here is a question that, “Why the Infidels and Idolaters were too much opponent of Islam? Why were they pursuing to finish It? Why did they observe the beliefs of the Muslims with bad view? Why did they hate the teachings of Islam?

There are answers of above mentioned questions that they had established their religion, their politics and their culture according to their manners at that time. Their aims and purposes were limited only up to their own welfare and well-being. They wished to retain the traditions of their own society. Contrary to this, Islam delivered the message of accomplished equality and global improvement, provided equal rights to every individual being the mankind and refused to accept the existence of any particular interested society. So, those all persons who conceived at the limited scale and who were miserly and selfish, they prepared themselves for enmity and malice.

How the false could stay before the true? How the darkness might remain after entering the Light? Those people drowned themselves in their own folly and enmity, and were fit for punishment forever. They were unfortunate in this world and became deserving of the Hell also on the Day of Resurrection.

And whoso of you becometh a renegade and dieth in his disbelief: such are they whose works have fallen both in the world and the Hereafter. And such are rightful owners of the Fire, they will abide therein forever.
Wa many-yartadid  minkum  ‘an- Diinihii  fayamut  wa  huwa  kaafirun- fa- ‘ulaaa- ‘ika  habitat ‘a’-maaluhum  fid-dunyaa  wal- ‘Akhirah.  Wa  ‘ulaaa- ‘ika  ‘As-haabun-Naar.  Hum  fiihaa  khaaliduun.

Lesson

It was cleared in the above part of the verse that the Infidels and Idolaters will carry on trying to turn the Muslims away from Islam with every method. They will threaten and terrify them, offer them different hopes and tempt them. Their entire attempts will be for the purpose that with any possible way, the Muslims must not increase in numbers; they would have to return unto ignorance and darkness of the infidelity.

It has been warned in this verse that if any Muslim will become a renegade leaving Islam under the influence of Infidels, due to scare or lure, and will die in his disbelief, his entire good deeds will be lost. He will have to suffer its punishment also in the world as well as on the Day of Resurrection too.

Punishment due to being a renegade from Islam will be that his life and wealth will not be protected. His relationship will be disconnected from his Muslim wife.  He cannot get the hereditary property of the Muslims. Moreover, if there is a Muslim government then the disloyal, renegade and rebel individual has no right to live in that state.

On the Day of Resurrection, he will be punished rigorously as he will remain deprived of his rewards and compensation. He will not get any retribution of his any worship and good deed. He will be put in to the Hell, will be burnt there forever and harmed rigorously.

Fayamut  wa  huwa  kaafirun – (if he dies in his disbelief), Allah Almighty taught from this sentence that if (God forbid) any Muslim becomes a renegade, even then; he has the opportunity to return towards the religion. The punishment of Hereafter is only in that case, if he dies in the folly of Infidelity.

The punishment of the renegade is too much rigorous because he became a renegade after understanding Islam (the Straight Path). Then doubts may rise in the hearts of other people; observing him.
