God chose Mary, made Her pure and preferred Her above the women of creation

(Peace be upon Her)

Surah ‘Aali ‘Imraan (The Family of Imran - 3), Stage – 1,

Verses – 42 & 44 of 200, Section – 5 of 20, (Part – 3)

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

42.  And when the angels said: O Mary! Lo! Allah hath chosen thee and made thee pure, and hath preferred thee above (all) the women of creation.       43.  O Mary! Be obedient to thy Lord, prostrate thyself and bow with those who bow (in worship).

42.  Wa  ‘iz  qaalatil-malaaa-‘ikatu  yaa-Maryamu  ‘innAllaahas-tafaaki  wa  tah-haraki  wastafaaki  ‘alaa  nisaaa-‘il-‘aalamiin.        43.  Yaa-Maryamuqnutii  li-Rabbiki  wasjudii  warka-‘ii  ma-‘ar-raaki-‘iin.

Lesson

       

‘as-tafaaki – {(He) has chosen thee}, besides choosing it also means “liking and selecting”. The word Mustafaa has also come out of it, which means “chosen and selected”. {Mustafaa is also name or title of last Messenger of God Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him)}.

Holy Qur’an not only verifies the past Scriptures from God Almighty (as Torah, Psalms and Gospel etc.) and Prophets (peace be upon them), but also it proved strongly that the misunderstandings, which were born about them (Heavenly Books and Prophets), were false and the disbelievers had accused and charged falsely against Them.

The children of Israel had published stupid sayings about the birth of Jesus Christ, his mother (peace be upon them), other persons of their family and likewise in connection with their teachings. Holy Qur’an refuted all of them. Therefore, it commands that: Allah Almighty said to Mary by means of His Angel (peace be upon him) that He has chosen Her for bestowing His blessings and favors upon Her. He has accepted Her (peace be upon her) in His dedication and made Her pure, and has preferred Her above the entire women of creation. For example, “She will bring forth a Prophet {as Jesus Christ (peace be upon them)} without touching by any male person. This beauty has not been given to any other woman of the world.

Then God Almighty commanded Mary (peace be upon her), “While you have been given such higher grade and honor, you should be obedient to your Lord, prostrate before Him and bow with those who bow in worship”.

These verses manifest that Allah Almighty specifies the person for His favor and bounty, whom He wills. He reveals His blessings upon him/her and bestows preference over others. The humankind should worship their Lord, bow themselves before Him and do worship with those who bow.

It is the best method of being grateful to Allah Almighty. He likes very much the contribution and submission of His servants. The person who thanks One God (Allah Almighty) due to His blessings, on him/her; He sends down more blessings.
