Terror of the Devil (L – 489)

Terror of the Devil (L – 489)

Surah ‘Aali- ‘Imraan (The Family of Imran -3),
Stage– 1, Verses – 175 & 176 of 200, Section 18 of 20, (Part – 4)

BisMillaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim
In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

175.  It is only the Devil who would make (men) fear his partisans. So fear them not; and fear Me, if ye are true Believers.

176.  Let not their conduct grieve thee, who run easily to disbelief, for lo! they injure Allah not at all. It is Allah’s Will to assign them no portion in the Hereafter, and theirs will be an awful doom.
175.  ’Innamaa  zaalikumush-Shay-taanu  yukhaw-wifu  ‘awli-yaaa-‘ah.  Falaa  takhaa-fuuhum  wa  khaafuuNi  ‘in-  kuntum-Mu’-miniin.

176.  Wa  laa  yah-zunkal-laziina  yusaari-‘uuna  fil-kufr.  ‘Inna-hum  lany-yazurrUllaaha  shay-‘aa.  Yurii-dUllaahu  ‘allaa  yaj-‘ala  lahum  hazzan-  fil-‘Aakhirah.  Wa  lahum  ‘azaabun  ‘aziim.

Lesson

Yukhaw-wifu  - (frightens, terrifies), this word has been derived from khawf, that is to say; the fear and concern about the future. Devilish temptations perplex and make the human being anxious always about his future. The words takhaa-fuuhum  and  khaafuuni  in this lesson have been derived from the same origin ‘Khawf,’ which means fear and terror.

‘Awli-yaaa-‘ahu – (his partisans),. Singular of this word is walii, which means “friend, helper and supporter”. Due to suitableness of this word’s meanings, the pious and good persons are called ‘awli-yaaa-‘Allaah (God’s friends).

yusaari-‘uuna – (they run easily), the words sur-‘at, sarii’ etc. are from the same origin. Its literal meanings are, “they make haste, they run and hasten”.

Hazzan – (advantage, benefit), haz means “pleasure, portion and profit etc.”

Allah Almighty commands the Muslims that the person, who wants to inspire the awe about your enemy by means of spreading the false news, is a Devil’s disciple and misled by Satan. His aim is to frighten you by inspiring with their terror. Therefore, if you believe (certainly you are Believers), you should not fear them, but fear Me.

Hypocrites run easily unto disbelief due to his false news. You should neither be grieved and nor thoughtful. Neither they can harm the Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), nor they can damage the Religion of Allah Almighty, but they have been harming themselves only. It is Allah’s Will to assign them no portion in the Hereafter as retaliation of their hypocrisy, and an awful doom is waiting for them in the Hereafter.
