Quran Chapter 6 – 157b (Pt-8, Stg-2) (L-914) - درس قرآن

Turning away from the Noble Qur’an

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

157b.  Now hath there come unto you a Clear Proof from your Lord, a Guidance and Mercy, who then doeth greater wrong than he who denieth the Revelations of Allah, and turneth away from them? We award unto those who turn away from Our Revelations an evil doom because of their aversion.
157b.  Faqad  jaaa-‘akum  Bayyi-natum-mir-Rabbikum  wa Hudanw-wa Rahmah. Faman ‘azlamu  mimman  kazzaba  bi- ‘AayaaTillaahi  wa  sadafa  ‘anhaa.  Sa-naj-zillaziina  yas-difuuna  ‘an  ‘Aayaati-Naa  suuu-‘al-‘azaabi  bimaa  kaanuu  yasdifuun.

Commentary

Sadafa – (turned away), it is a past tense and has been derived from sadfun, which means “to turn away, to shrink from, to decline”. The word Yasdifuun has also come out from the same word.

It was declared in the previous verse that now the people cannot say: No Scripture was revealed unto us. If the Scripture had been revealed unto us, we surely would have been better guided than are they.

Now has there come unto you better than all the Scriptures; named ‘Al-Qur’an, which is a spring of Guidance. If you did not obey the commands mentioned in It, you would be the biggest transgressors.

It is commanded that this Scripture has reached you from your Lord Almighty. It has very clear proofs and evidence. It guides towards the Straight Path. And that, what it contains from its beginning to end, is useful only for you (Its believers). It is the Mercy of your Lord, which has He revealed for you.

It is the Book, in which these entire characteristics and such qualities exist, which do not have any end, ready to guide every time, present for help in all conditions, useful in constraint times, guarantor of the prosperity of own believers, honor and glory, ground provider to connect with the Creator.

If It (Holy Qur’an) is ignored and one is engaged in spam talks by throwing Its commands behind, then certainly it is the worst adversity and sign of ill-luck. Now you should tell: If someone forgets such conducive and salutary Book, and turns away from It, then who can be more loser and chopper of own feet than him?

Giving It up is extremely oppression, which can be done by anyone upon himself, also upon the human beings. Certainly he would have to be punished severely. Allah Almighty says: We have chosen worst wrath for such people. They will face punishment of their negligence in this world (entire national honor and respect will be snatched from them) as well as they will not be in ease and comfort after death.

The people of Makkah were caused to hear these verses. Very few people believed in the verses. Remaining all people heard from one ear and blew out from the other. The history witnesses that in what manner, the success was granted to the Believers and how much they were promoted, whereas at the other side, in what manner, the Disbelievers came in the grip of disgrace and distress. Those handful Believers beat severely the Disbelievers. Neither their unity on the wrong things rendered any good service and nor their so much Arms and Equipment benefited them. The Message is the same and still even today. The hearers should use their senses.
