Commentary

Brutality and violence of Pharaoh increased day by day. At last Prophet Moses and Aaron (peace be upon them) prayed: They are proud of their wealth and property. Destroy they wealth and ruin them. They will never believe with true heart.

Allah Almighty replied: We have accepted your Prayers. You should not worry if appearance of its effect is delayed for some time. Every work is dependent on its fixed time. When the time will come, they will be destroyed. No deficiency should come in your stability and firmness due to delay in punishment. You should remain away from the path of those ignorant and foolish people and continue calling the people unto the Guidance.

Big forces have been performing their duties in the world, as though, this world is a wrestling ground of those forces. Islam teaches that Power of Allah Almighty is overcoming on the entire forces. He lets those forces work and causes to appear their consequence and effect. But sometimes; He stops also their influence on account of any expedience. And sometimes; He strengthens them more than normal. Disobedient people are destroyed by their stroke. But Allah Almighty informs before time; the ways of escaping; to the Obedient; by means of His Prophets (peace be upon them).

Quran Chapter 10  88a (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L-1359) - درس قرآن

Reason of refractoriness

Surah Yuunus (Jonah) - 10

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)

88a.  And Moses said: Our Lord! Lo! Thou hast given Pharaoh and his chiefs; splendor and riches in the life of the world, Our Lord! That they may lead men astray from Thy Way.
88a.  Wa  qaala  Muusaa  Rabba-naaa  ‘innaKa  ‘aa-tayta  Fir-‘aw-na  wa  mala-‘ahuu  ziina-tanw-wa  ‘am-waalan-  fil-Hayaatid-dunyaa.  Rabba-naa  li-yuzilluu  ‘an-  Sabbii-liK.

Commentary

It is commanded that Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) solicited: Our Lord! It seems that Pharaoh and his people will never change their way of life. They have two things, due to which; nature of the mankind becomes corrupted. They are healthy and possess food in abundance, sources of conveyance, well-built and decorated houses, wealth and property, even everything. Until they possess these all things, ease and pleasantness of life, they will never listen to any individual, and will do that what they desire. You have given them all kinds of luxurious enjoyment. But unfortunately those things have become means of their deviation and they use force against others. They have gone astray, as well as lead others to give up the Straight Path.

It is known from this verse that wealth and property, good health, arrangements of comfort and pleasure are grant of Allah Almighty. He gives such things with His Bounty and Favor; to whom He desires. But these entire things are for testing all mankind. He wishes to see: whether the people use these things in accordance with the commands of Allah Almighty or choose the way of rebellion by strutting, become rulers themselves and begin to molest the creature of Allah Almighty.

Those people who are prosperous, they should learn from these verses that they should help the poor and insolvent people and spend their wealth and power in correcting their condition, and move forward by taking all along with themselves.

Organization and Alliance - Quran Chapter 10 – 87 (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L-1358) - درس قرآن

Quran Chapter 10  87 (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L-1358) - درس قرآن

Organization and Alliance

Surah Yuunus (Jonah) - 10

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

Apparently it is observed that the Muslims have been scattering. Strangeness has been increasing among them and no united effort can be from them for their mutual betterment. It is clear that if an individual possesses any useful thing; but he disregards, he cannot reap advantage from it. Existence of the medicine cannot be useful for the patient if he does not take it properly. Believers of Allah Almighty have “hitting the mark to the point” medicine which is their “Belief” and by which their every disease – apparent and hidden; can be cured. But they have forgotten it by putting it in the corner of any shelf. They have perception of their calamities. They have been observing that they are being put down at every moment. Schism has been choking them. Greediness and lust have made them selfish.

Although they fulfill religious duties, offer congregational prayers; hear exhortations and accordingly pay alms and charity also, but predominant qualities of Islam are not being produced into them. No doubt that establishing mutual worship and obeying the sayings of religious leaders are good matters but notwithstanding these good acts, none says them good. In a previous verse, it has been described: “‘In  kuntum  ‘aaman-tum  Billaahi  fa-‘alayHi  tawakka-luuu (If ye have believed in Allah then put trust in Him).

It is known that soul of all good deeds is “the Belief”. We praise Allah Almighty but do not turn our intention unto Him. We say with our tongues: “Allah only is our God” and pray for our welfare much also, but our hearts do not put trust in Him. We establish worship but our hearts are not attentive unto Him, though the Belief is joint in all Muslims, but they have put it behind their back. When there is no perception of the thing which is common in all, then there is no worship; but following the traditions and customs only. Strife and quarrel with one another mutually; is only for the purpose that we are bound of own customs separately. While the Belief is not in sight then how can they unite and why should they intend towards the service of the religion.

In the Believers; only Belief is such a thing which can bring the separated persons together. It has been explained in the above-mentioned verses: At first seek your Belief; whether it exists or otherwise. If it exists then you should put trust in Allah Almighty, live altogether in peace, establish worship at one place and pray for welfare of all community, then Mercy of Allah Almighty will descend on you and such prayers will come out from your hearts naturally, by the means of which, you will gain victory and triumph over your enemies and hypocrites.

It was described to the Children of Israel that first step of arrangement is “Belief”, after that, worship of Allah Almighty and praying from Him. Your next every step will be wrong till the time your first step is not correct.

Plan of salvation - Quran Chapter 10 – 87 (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L-1357) - درس قرآن

Quran Chapter 10  87 (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L-1357) - درس قرآن

Plan of salvation

Surah Yuunus (Jonah) - 10

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

87.  And We inspired Moses and his brother, (saying): Appoint houses for your people in Egypt and make your houses facing Qiblah, and establish worship. And give good news to the believers.
87.  Wa  ‘aw-hay-Naaa  ‘ilaa  Muusaa  wa  ‘akhii-hi  ‘an-  tabawwa-‘aa  li-Qawmi-kumaa  bi-Misraa  bu-yuutanw-waj-‘aluu  buyuuta-kum  Qibla-tanw-wa  ‘aqii-mus-Salaah.  Wa  bash-shiril-Mu’-miniin.

Commentary

The same Method of Organization was explained for the Children of Israel which can be of any nation; which believe in Allah Almighty. When this kind of nation is victim of others’ tyranny and oppression; it should choose this way.

In the previous verse, they were told that they should put their trust in Allah Almighty because it is biggest weapon of those who surrendered unto Him. Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) said: When you all will turn towards Allah Almighty, soul of union will be born among you. You should not ask any other but Him for help. Every individual should put faith in Him only, hence all people will be engaged with the Grace of Allah Almighty in the same work for which He will command.

It is commanded: We revealed on Moses and Aaron (peace be upon them)! Build your houses collectively at one place in a part of Egypt and colonize there. Appoint your houses also as a place of worship, and establish worship congregationally, so that perception of alliance and amity into you become strong.

The sketch of best form of the organization has been drawn in this verse. During calamity, the people forget asking one another and every person suffers from own concern. It has been described in this verse that it is easy for the believers to be assembled. Belief is the best way of producing union and alliance. If all are believers, they should incline unto obeying commands of Allah Almighty, having trust in Him. As soon as, they will give ear to the Belief, their perception of helplessness and friendlessness will be removed. After that, second thing is, establishing worship altogether (congregational). From it; they can get collective power, which cannot be gotten by any other source.

84.  And Moses said: O my people! If ye have believed in Allah then put trust in Him, if ye have indeed surrendered (unto Him)!

85.  So they said: In Allah we put trust. Our Lord! Make us not a lure for the wrongdoing folk-

86.  And, of Thy Mercy, save us from the folk that disbelieve.
84.  Wa  qaala  Muusaa  yaa-qawmi  ‘in  kuntum  ‘aaman-tum  Billaahi  fa-‘alayHi  tawakka-luuu  ‘in-  kuntum-  Musli-miin..

86.  Wa  najji-naa  bi-Rah-mati-Ka  minal-qawmil-kaafiriin.

Commentary

Yaa-qawmi – (O my people), actually this word was yaa-qawmii, for calling; last “i” has been frittered away, because in this condition, it has been epitomized.

Pharaoh and his supporters did not accept advice of Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) and began to use more force against the Children of Israel because his courtiers guided him to do so, so that, lest they rebel under the command of Moses (peace be upon him).

It is commanded that Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) said to the Children of Israel: If you believe in Allah Almighty, then you should trust in Him only. Trust is a sign that you are ready to obey the Command of Allah Almighty, and you will not turn from it due to accidental difficulties. On this, the oppressed nation (the Children of Israel) admitted: Certainly we trust in Allah Almighty and rely on Him only in this matter, and we pray: Our Lord! Give not opportunity to rebellious Pharaoh and his arrogant nation that they test their full power against us and keep us making a target of their tyranny and violence.

Our Lord! Those people are infidels who do not believe in You. If they got opportunity of oppressing us, they would leave no stone unturned in molesting to us. Our Lord! We pray in Your Court for saving us from their tyranny and getting rid of them.
