Previous verses, which are in
the beginning of this Chapter, are a best Lesson for the Muslims of these days.
At first, these verses were caused to hear the honorable people of Makkah,
whose quickness of perception and sagacity was very sharp in understanding the
matters of worldly life. They were commanded: If you use your sense correctly
then you will know that this prosperity of the world is not for always. It was
described to them: To rouse the mankind from the dream of unmindful-ness,
Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) has
brought unto you the Message of God Almighty. He will cause to hear you the
Word of your Lord.
Holy Qur’aan explains
before you that if you did not choose the correct Path, then very soon,
misfortunes and calamities would be descended on you. The Infidels of Makkah did
not pay any attention to these Sayings. The only reason was that they were rich
and had luxurious things. The common people used to obey and respect them. They
could not understand that these entire things would be snatched from them and
they would suffer from calamities.
It was the result that from which
calamity they were being frightened; later on that was descended. Their wealth
was seized and they were disgraced. Their friends and supporters came to an end
in their presence. At last, they also were off. In addition they bought the
calamity of the Doomsday. We should think: Whether is our condition not as of
those, even being Muslims? Whether have we not forgotten the commandments of
Holy Qur‘aan, being overjoyed on our wealth?
Alas! It seems that the person,
who possesses some wealth, does not care others. He turns away from Holy Qu’aan,
determines that restrictions of the religious Law of God are a trouble only;
and says that “these are for the poor and worthless fellows. Rich people are
not indigent to give up newly invented things of amusement and sports; and
become priests”.
Alas! Is this behavior
different from the behavior of the Infidels of Makkah? If not, then
it is a place of extreme fear. There is none who may protect save Allah
Almighty.
