Commentary
Shiya-‘a – (factions,
sects, classes), this word is plural of shii-‘atun, origin of which
has been derived from sh-y-‘. Sha-yuu’ means “to
spread, to be public”. Shiya’ is a group of people, among whom
a particular thought has been expanded and they all agreed to.
Nasluku – {We
make (it) traverse}, it is the tense of aorist (aorist is the name of
certain tenses in the Greek verb expressing indefinite time), from sa-la-ka,
from which two origins have come out. First is saluuk, which is an
intransitive verb i.e. to enter, to run. The second is sal-kun, which
is an active verb and which means – to make traverse, to pass. In the verse, it
aims “to infuse”.
It is commanded: The mankind
inclines unto immediate and ad hoc benefits very soon, and does not think that
by giving up these casual benefits, he can reap many perpetual advantages. To
explain about the difference among these temporary and permanent benefits, We
sent Messengers (peace be upon them) also in the nations passed away. But like
those nations, these people have also been involved in the same quarrels that
they are unable to see above the temporary benefits of the world, that is to
say, which Messenger (peace be upon him) came unto them, they used to ridicule
Him (peace be upon him). Thus We slip it into the hearts of the guilty,
and it is the result of their infidelity and impiety.
