Quran Chapter 11  Intro (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L-1384) - درس قرآن

Introduction

Surah Huud (Hud) - 11

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

This is eleventh Chapter of Holy Qur’aan which was revealed some years ago from Flight {Hijrat of God’s last Messenger; Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him)} from Makkah to Madinah.

Those contents have been completed in this Surah which were recited in the previousSurah (Younus). It was described in Surah Younus that Allah Almighty sent His Messengers (peace be upon them) from time to time to show the mankind Straight and Right Path, who explained that this entire world has been created by Allah Almighty with His Divine Power according to an established Order. His Philosophy demands that the best mankind from all should be appointed as His Messenger, who should cause to know the people that; how should they use their physical and mental strength? Therefore, from those Messengers (peace be upon them), circumstances of Noah, then Moses and Aaron (peace be upon them) were mentioned in Surah Younus; and it was described that in the period between them, many Prophets (peace be upon them) came unto their nations separately.

In this Chapter, those Messengers and Prophets (peace be upon them) have been set in order as under:

·         Noah (peace be upon him)

·         Hud (peace be upon him)

·         Saleh (peace be upon him)

·         Abraham (peace be upon him)

·         Lut (peace be upon him)

·         Shuaib (peace be upon him)

It has been caused to understand in Holy Qur’aan that these all Messengers were links of Messengers’ lineage (peace be upon them). Your Messenger, Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) will cause to hear you their circumstances Himself.

First of all, it will be a sign that He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) is a Messenger also, Who has not acquired knowledge from any other himself and even then, He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) has been describing you correct circumstances of ancient people, because Allah Almighty has inspired on him this all.

Secondly, you will be taught; how to learn, from these circumstances so that you may keep yourselves safe from those errors; which they committed.

In this Chapter (Surah Hud), summary of the teachings of the Messengers (peace be upon them) has been provided like Surah Younus and the aim of revealing of Holy Qur’aan has been described. It is a collection of those verses; in which, there is no capacity of doubts. It is the last Holy Book, which has been given to the last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), so that He should put “A Perfect Religion” in order by manifesting and compiling the teachings of all previous Messengers (peace be upon them) for the mankind.

It was described in Surah Younus that due to disobedience of Allah Almighty and His Messengers (peace be upon them); the people suffered from punishment in the world. In Surah Hud, map of the circumstances of the Doomsday has been drawn and produced before the people. Map of the Day of Resurrection is so much frightful that Messenger of Allah Almighty commanded: Surah Hud and other Chapters like this; have made Me old.

What does this Chapter teach us? - Quran Chapter 10 – 109 (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L-1383) - درس قرآن

Quran Chapter 10  109 (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L-1383) - درس قرآن

What does this Chapter teach us?

Surah Yuunus (Jonah) - 10

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

God Almighty be praised that lessons from Surah (Chapter) Younus (Jonah – peace be upon him) were completed on previous lesson. It was described in the Chapter that Holy Qur’an is a strong and firm Book in all respect. Neither Its words can be changed and nor any other book can be revealed for canceling its Commandments. Whatever exists in it; is 100% right and correct.

Then; it was commanded: what is surprising in it if Allah Almighty has appointed a Man from them for the guidance of all human beings? Coming of the Messenger (peace be upon Him) is necessary because there are many people in the world who mislead others and it is very difficult to find the Straight Path without Guidance.

By sending His Messengers (peace be upon Them), Allah Almighty explained about the Straight Path and He commanded to His last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him): Cause to hear the good news to the good people that they are eminent in the Court of Allah Almighty, and frighten the evildoers that their end is not good. They should abstain from wicked deeds and choose to do good deeds. If they will do so then they will gain their end.

After that, it was caused to understand that this entire world and whatsoever exists in it, has been created by Allah Almighty with His Divine Power. Think carefully on its wonderful arrangement and curiosities, and know the Creator (Allah Almighty) from them. You have been populated here temporarily; and your actual life will start after death. Only those people will find rest and comfort of that life; who will obey the commands of Allah Almighty after knowing Him in this life.

In the entire Chapter, it has been urged that you should know Allah Almighty and worship Him only; otherwise you would have to repent after death. There, you will be asked only about your belief. If you would have believed in Allah Almighty during worldly life; and would not have ascribed plurality to Him, and you obeyed His commands, then you will get freedom from His anger, otherwise you will be punished very severely.

Contrary to it, if you are desirous to guess about comfort and pleasure of those who believed in Allah Almighty in the world and followed His Revelations, conjecture from it that they will be provided well-built houses, decorated with green trees loaded with fruits underneath which; the rivers flow. Their all wishes will be fulfilled immediately.

Such matters have been manifested by narrating the circumstances of ancient nations and it has been explained that Peace of the Hereafter is fixed for those who believed and did good works. In the world also, those people will be saved from disasters and misfortunes; who will pass their lives according to the Instructions (Quran) of Allah Almighty and Sayings (Hadith) of His last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him).

109.  Wattabi’  maa  yuu-haaa  ‘ilay-ka  was-bir  hattaa  yahku-mAllaah.  Wa  Huwa  Khay-rul-Haa-kimiin.

Commentary

Before this, it was commanded to the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) that after causing to know the Revelations of Holy Qur’an, he should say to the people: Whatsoever I have been causing to hear you, it is such clear Truth which has been sent for you from your Lord.

He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) explained the entire Revelations before the people, but their unintelligence and perversity did not let them understand the actual matter. From it; He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) was grieved. He was sorrowful due to their obstinacy, but it is possible that He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) would have thought: Whether would have I not fallen short in causing to know them? May be that such opposite behavior of theirs is for the reason that I could not produce the Truth before them as it required. For the mankind, this thought is very painful if the perception of so much shortness and incorrectness is born in his heart and he begin to think: The work which is not running; I am liable to come upon this blame. At such occasion, encouragement by a Superior Officer is of use. In this verse, Allah Almighty makes His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) content that: You have performed your duty. Now if they do not understand, let them do what they wish.

It is commanded: You should not be sorrowful that why do they not understand. Your duty is only to follow that which is inspired in you and obey the commands which are revealed. Continue explaining the Holy Qur’an before the people by your words and deeds. Those who obey you, are fortunate, and those who do not attend to you but arm against you with their words and deeds, who begin to trouble and hurt you, for it; you should forbear and instruct your companions also to be patient; and wait for the Judgment of Allah Almighty. He has complete knowledge of their movements.

108b.  Wa  man  zalla  fa-‘inna-maa  ya-zillu  ‘alay-haa.  Wa  maaa  ‘annaa  ‘alay-kum-  bi-wakiil.

Commentary

It is commanded that if, after coming so much clear Revelations, still any person does not accept the Truth, but acts according to own will, then he has been wandering astray. Result of losing his way will be that on the Day of Resurrection, he will be in severe hurt.

After that, Allah Almighty commands to His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) that he should say to the people! Your Lord sent His Prophets and Messengers (peace be upon them) and Scriptures for their guidance, gave them sense and understanding, by which; they can know that “which path is correct for them; and what is the Truth in worldly mixed up and disordered matters”? “I am God’s last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and have brought unto you His last Word for reciting before you and causing to understand you. But like other Messengers (peace be upon them), my work is also the same that I should cause to know you only. I have not been appointed as a powerful over the people for compelling them to accept the Truth, and put them on the straight path with force; who go astray.

Sufficient signs of the Straight Path have been disclosed after giving the mankind sense and option in the world. He has been informed about the consequences of good and evil deeds. Duty of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) is that he should explain these matters by causing to know the entire people well. Authority of accepting or rejecting the Truth is held with every individual. Whoso will accept; will reap advantage and do good for oneself. But whoso will reject, will be hurt and he will know very soon that he has sown thorns in favor of himself, and he will get nothing from them save distress and pain.

Verily, due of causing to understand the human being has been rendered in the verses of Holy Qur’an. However, the Muslims are certainly liable to come upon the blame that they did not produce Islam in its original form before the world.

Commentary

In the world, there are many necessities of the human being. For fulfilling them, he has been bestowed with power of thinking, understanding and working. Most works of life are done by his option. There are many ways before him for fulfilling necessities, and he likes one of those ways after checking. But because his knowledge is limited, so often he errs in choosing the correct way, reason of which is that he considers “this worldly life is everything”, and he is careless from the matter that there is one more life after this life, which is called “futurity, after life, the world to come, the Day of Resurrection”. When he strives for the good of this world, does not think, lest this effort be against the gain of the life after death, whereas he should think and do all works in such a way that he may succeed in both worlds.

It is commanded: O Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him)! Say to the people after causing to know them clearly about the Revelations of Holy Qur’an! This, what is being explained before you, is such correct, straight and right path, which your Lord has manifested on you. The name of this way is “Religion Islam”. Your sense is sufficient to understand it that “This is the best way for the mankind”. By choosing this way, you will get success in the both worlds. Your life of this world will be arranged; as well as, you will reap its reward also after death on the Day of Resurrection.

107b.  Yusiibu  bihii  many-yashaaa-‘u  min  ‘ibaadiH.  Wa  Huwal-Gafuurur-Rahiim.

Commentary

Allah Almighty commands that when you have understood that Owner of profit and loss is none beside Him, then you should know also that profit and loss depends on the Will of Allah Almighty. Sometimes His philosophy demands that any particular man should be hurt or pain should be given to him, and sometimes His philosophy is that so and so should be profited and comfort should be provided to him. His decision depends on His intention and will. None can interfere in this matter.

Mankind should be ready every time to obey every command of Allah Almighty and sacrifice his life and wealth. And he should neither worship any other beside Allah Almighty and nor consider that someone else can profit or hurt save Allah Almighty. Sinner should produce own mistakes and errors before Him which he committed at times due to weakness and ignorance; and ask Him for forgiveness, because sometimes his errors become cause of misfortunes. If he prays from Allah Almighty for forgiveness of the sins, many of the catastrophes are withdrawn by His Bounty.

Allah Almighty has caused to understand in this verse by saying Himself “the Forgiving, the Merciful” that all profits and losses are in His Power. But mostly, apparent reason of harm is mankind’s infirmity and forgetfulness, and cause of benefit is mankind’s submission and humility before Allah Almighty and acting upon His Instructions. Treatment of weakness and oblivion is “calling Allah Almighty for His forgiveness, worshipping Him and asking Him for help”.

If a human being acts upon the Guidance of Allah Almighty; he deserves His Mercy. Therefore, the end of these verses is on God’s “the Forgiving, the Merciful”, so that it may be indicated, by Alone Owner of profit and harm, towards those apparent reasons which become origin of profit and loss, so that the mankind should seek causes of profit and escape from the reasons of harm, and remain asker of His forgiveness every time.
