(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

Commentary

Condition of the mankind was described in the previous verses. He has been falling in love with this world. Some people are those who, when they are exposed to imminent danger, begin to pray in these words: Our Lord! If You save us from this disaster, we shall worship You during our further entire life. But as soon as the disaster is removed, they rebel again more than first time.

Such people were warned that their rebellion will bring calamity on themselves. The world is only for a few days. If you are saved in it, then what? At the end, you will come back unto Us and will be punished properly for your evil deeds. In this verse, reality of this world has been caused to understand them, so that they should know: there is no need of love with this unsteady world.

It is commanded: Behold! Hear the similitude of that thing of the world; on which you are tempted. We caused to rain from the sky, Verdure on the earth began to bloom. With the abundance of vegetation; all fields were filled. No space was remained empty on the land. Some of it became food for the mankind and some feed for the cattle. Every kind of grain, fruit, vegetables, green and straw, flowers and plants had grown for freshness for the eyes and pleasure for the hearts. In short, the entire land was laden with the growth, feeling spring through long looking.
