Quran Chapter 10  21 (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L-1298) - درس قرآن

Punishment of Plotting

Surah Yuunus (Jonah) - 10

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

وَإِذَآ أَذَقْنَا ٱلنَّاسَ رَحْمَةً مِّنۢ بَعْدِ ضَرَّآءَ مَسَّتْهُمْ إِذَا لَهُم مَّكْرٌ فِىٓ ءَايَاتِنَا قُلِ ٱللَّهُ أَسْرَعُ مَكْرًا إِنَّ رُسُلَنَا يَكْتُبُونَ مَا تَمْكُرُونَ 21

21.  And when We cause mankind to taste of mercy after some adversity which had afflicted them, behold! They have some plot against Our Revelations. Say: Lo! Our messengers write down that which ye plot.
21.  Wa  ‘izaaa  ‘azaq-Nan-naasa  rahmatam-mim-  ba’-di  zar-raaa-‘a  massat-hum  ‘izaa  lahum-makrun-  fiii  ‘Aayaati-Naa.  Qul-Lillaahu  ‘Asra-‘u  makraa.  ‘Inna  rusulaNaa  yak-tubuuna  maa  tam-kuruun.

Commentary

Massat – it is past tense from the word “MassaMassa means “to touch, to feel, to meddle with, to suffer”. Here it aims “to suffer”.

Makrun – this word has passed in Surah ‘Aali-‘Imraan. It means “plot, deceiving, trick, untrue narration. At first place, it aims “knavery, fraud, to deceive”, and at the second place it means “punishment”. The word tam-kuruun has also been derived from the same which means “cunning, artful, the cheat, the knaves”.

‘Aayaati – (Portents, Revelations, verses), this word is plural of ‘Aayatun. Every such thing by which, any other thing appears, the word ‘aayatun is used for that other thing. Here it aims “the incidents of the world, from which Omnipotence of Allah Almighty is disclosed.

Which incident happens in the world, from that, Almighty Power of Allah appears. Therefore, by beholding every incident, we should assume the result that it is from Allah Almighty. If that incident is beneficial; we should be thankful to Him, and if it produces sorrow and pain of mind, then we should pray for its removal.

If the famine occurs, we supplicate before Allah Almighty to remove it. When it is removed then we do never think about Him; and say “the famine is finished due to the rain”. In short, Allah Almighty helps us in our difficulties but we consider that it was done by so and so (without God’s support). By being entangled in apparent evasions; we forget our Creator and do not know that Allah Almighty can change at once this prosperity into misfortune as a chastisement of such carelessness. Every deed of ours, whether that is good or bad, is brought in writing by His appointed Angels (peace be upon them), nothing is left without registering. And He can change our ease and comfort immediately in torment of infidelity and thankless.
