Helplessness of human knowledge - Quran Chapter 10 – 36 (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L-1318) - درس قرآن

Quran Chapter 17  36 (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L-1318) - درس قرآن

Helplessness of human knowledge

Surah Yuunus (Jonah) - 10

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

Second Section of this Chapter had begun from here that human being is seeker of goodness and makes haste to acquire it, and wants that he should be given reward of his every labor immediately, because he believes unintelligently that harvest of his every effort will be good certainly in his favor, whereas it can happen also that result of his labor and effort is dangerous and harmful for him. The fruit of haste is repentance. He hastens for his loss due to his guilelessness and does not know it.

It is understood by meditating in this verse that “why it is not necessary, if a person considers that his act is good so its result will also be good”. A mankind does not bring any kind of knowledge along with himself in this world. He has to learn all matters of his profit and loss after coming here. And these matters are taught to him by the people around him. But there are some such matters which are right whereas some are wrong.

That matter which is right and useful in all respect; and in which there is nothing wrong; can be known only from his Creator i.e. Allah Almighty and by means of True Prophets (peace be upon them) sent by Him. And by acting upon their Sayings, advice and guidance, every individual can acquire success and pleasure of both worlds, otherwise it will happen always by following own thoughts, traditions and customs that sometimes you will gain something and sometime you will lose manifolds than it.

Which work is done by the humankind by his own will and intention, certainly that is for attaining any such thing which may provide him pleasure and comfort. But he does not know that in fact which thing will provide him relief and which will be painful, and nor any mankind tells him “this is good and that is bad”. Only Allah Almighty knows or His Messenger (grace, blessings and peace be upon Him), whom He has caused to understand about Good and Evil by revealing Holy Qur’aan unto Him (grace, blessings and peace be upon Him).

Therefore, it is the first teaching of Holy Qur’aan “Turn towards Allah Almighty only and obey His Commandments, because there is goodness for you in it only. If you will see unto yourselves; you will lose your way, or if you will ask advice or opinion of any other save Holy Qur’aan and Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, blessings and peace be upon Him), he will not be able to tell you except; foundation of which is on; conjecture and guess, and result of that will be not any other but depravity.

Conjecture and guess - Quran Chapter 10 – 36 (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L-1317) - درس قرآن

Quran Chapter 17  36 (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L-1317) - درس قرآن

Conjecture and guess

Surah Yuunus (Jonah) - 10

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

36. And most of them follow not but conjecture. Assuredly conjecture can by no means take the place of Truth. Lo! Allah is Aware of what they do.
36. Wa maa yatta-bi-‘u ‘ak-sa-rahum ‘illaa zannaa. ‘Innaz-zanna laa yugnii minal-Haqqi shay-‘aa. ‘InnAllaaha ‘Aliimum-bimaa yaf-‘aluun.

Commentary

Zanna – (conjecture), it means – opinion without proof, guess, idea, presumption, probability etc.

It is commanded that if truly someone desires to discover the reality of anything, he should give up conjecture and guessing at a venture, because the Truth is out of the circle of conjecture and probability. Estimating, realizing in the mind, conjecture and a wild guess do not disclose the Truth. If anybody committed any work on the power of his thoughts, he cannot say: “My work is right”. But it is difficult to decide by a common mankind that “which work is right and which is wrong”. Only Allah Almighty knows the reality of works; done by any human being, and whatever is done by any mankind, about it, none can say except Allah Almighty that whether it is useful or harmful for him. Its knowledge has Allah Almighty only. And He has sent His Messenger (grace, blessings and peace be upon Him) along with His Word (Qur’aan) for the purpose that He (grace, blessings and peace be upon Him) should explain before the people that some works are useful for them and some harmful.

Forming different kinds of machinery by fitting different parts, collecting wealth by snatching from others, and exercising authority on the people by violence; are not useful things for the human being. With effect from the revolution of machine time (which although lessened the human labor), the humankind have been entangled in more and more misfortunes; and further has been going to be entangled.

Matters about his welfare, improvement and advantage can be found only in the Holy Qur’aan, not anywhere else.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

35.  Say:  Is there of your partners (whom ye ascribe unto Allah) one that leadeth to the Truth? Say: Allah leadeth to the Truth. Is He Who leadeth to the Truth more deserving that He should be followed, or he who findeth not the way unless he (himself) be guided? What aileth you? How judge ye?
35.  Qul  hal  min-  shura-kaaa-‘i-kum-many-yahdiii  ‘ilal-Haqq.  QuLillaahu  yahdii  lil-Haqq.  ‘Afa-manyyahdiii  ‘ilal-Haqqi  ‘ahaqqu  ‘anyyut-taba-‘a  ‘am-mallaa  yahiddiii  ‘illaaa  ‘anyyuh-daa.  Famaa  lakum.  Kayfa  tahkumuun.

Commentary

Laa  yahiddiii – {he (himself) does not find the way}, it is an imperfect tense. Actually this word is yah-tadii. One more word has come out from the same which is ‘ahtadaa’. ‘Ahtadaa’ means “to find the way”. Laa  yahtadii (laa  yahiddiii) means “he does not find the way”.

It is commanded: Your Elders, Wisemen, Priests, Monks, the Hand of any religious order, spiritual Guides and Brahmans etc. can do nothing at their own. The Guidance is not in their power. However, after getting Guidance from God Almighty, they can guide others, not themselves.

The Children of Israel had faith in their Priests and Monks that they were their Gods. The Christians said that Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) is their God. Other idolaters determined that their religious Scholars were their Doers. They all went astray. Those entire people and particularly Muslims are being warned in this verse that their judgment is false. Except Allah Almighty; there is none; who may have power to give something to any other, to snatch anything from any individual, to cause to die or live, and guide unto the Straight Path.

There is neither any guide, nor leader and nor any director, and nor can be anyone save Allah Almighty. It is the Truth, remaining all is self-invented. Our Lord! Show and lead us unto the Straight Path. Amen.

Omnipotence of Allah - Quran Chapter 10 – 34 (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L-1315) - درس قرآن

Commentary

It is behavior of maximum people of the world that they consider that the works of this world are everything. And when they are asked: Who has created this Workhouse (universe) and who has been managing it? They say: Allah has created it and He Himself has been managing, whereas; sight of their heart is focused on apparent reasons. Holy Qur’aan desires to cause to know them that trust in any other than Allah Almighty is wrong.

It has been commanded in this verse: Which you deem that some other things are occupying in the Workhouse of the world, did you ever think that whether, in the beginning, anything can create any other thing or otherwise? It is the last limit of humankind’s flight that after discovering the peculiarities of existing things, he may arrange according to them.

Actually, there are two basic things in the world – the Matter and the Power. It is not in the power of any human being that he may create any one of the both in the beginning. And while it is not in his power then it is not in the power of any other creature. Allah Almighty created them at first, and then, by their means, He created those things which have life. And none can do these both works save Him.

Then after a particular time, He will destroy them and produce again. You accept it that Allah Almighty created it in the beginning, so after its destruction, only He is; Who will reproduce it. It is required that as you admit the first matter verbally only; you should believe in it also. When you will believe in it then it will be easy to believe in the second matter, because that is consequence of the first. He can reproduce Who produced at first time.

Neither can anyone produce first time except Allah Almighty and nor again. Then from where you have brought the partners of God Almighty in this matter and which is that stage from where you went astray leaving the Straight Path?

32.  Such then is Allah, your real Lord. After the Truth what is there saving error? How then are ye turned away!

33.  Thus is the Word of thy Lord Justified concerning those who do wrong; that they believe not.
32.  Fazaa-liku-mUllaahu  Rabbu-kumul-Haqq.  Famaa-zaa  ba’-dal-Haqqi  ‘illaz-zalaal.  Fa-‘annaa  tus-rafuun.

33.  Kazaa-lika  haqqat  Kalimatu  Rabbika  ‘alal-laziina  fasaquuu  ‘annahum  laa  yu’-minuun.

Commentary

It was described in the previous verses that only One Allah Almighty is; Who puts in order everything of the universe. It has been commanded in the above quoted verses that when it is asked from you: Who is The Supplier of the means of subsistence, Lord and Creator of the entire universe? Then you speak out at once that “Allah”. Then why do you not obey His Commandments? Behold! While Allah Almighty performs these all works, brings you up and nourishes you, then it is obvious that He is your actual Lord. It is clear from your answer that there is none in the world who may perform these entire works except Him. And there is no other duty of the things save it that for which duty those have been appointed; they should do it properly. It is error to consider someone as your Lord; if you gain your end by means of any individual. Whatever he did, was done by the commandment of Allah Almighty. Neither has he any power; nor authority. After understanding as much, it is nothing but only depravity; if you consider that someone else is your Lord except Allah Almighty.

It is surprising that after accepting the Truth, you have been going astray. Reflect for a while, what kind of conduct is it, and where is it carrying you? This intentional perverseness shows that you are enemies of yourselves and your disobedience, immortality, rebellion and insurrection has been pushing you unto infidelity. Commandment of Allah Almighty that “They believe not due to their evil days”, has been proved as correct.

Summary of The Word - Quran Chapter 10 – 31 (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L-1313) - درس قرآن

Quran Chapter 17  31 (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L-1313) - درس قرآن

Summary of The Word

Surah Yuunus (Jonah) - 10

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

This verse explains that if human sense remained entangled in the circle of apparent causes, it did not fulfill its actual duty. Last degree of excellence of the human sense is that it should know Allah Almighty. If it remained below this level then such wisdom is still inexpert. The people who have an inexpert sense are able; on no account; that others may go forth on their established way, otherwise they will also remain deprived of obtaining human perfection like them.

It is obvious that sight of anyone does not rise up from outward material reasons in the world save chosen servants of Allah Almighty. But this distraction exists in the human nature that this apparent worldly life does not seem fit for human dignity. It is unavoidable that any other life for this purpose is necessary, in which he may fulfill his exalted and magnificent intentions without let or hindrance. A poet draws a map of human life of this world:

(Thousands of such desires; that  I  die  on  every  desire,
Many of my wishes were fulfilled but still those are many).

{Hazaaron khaahishen aysi keh har khahish pe dam niklay,
{Bahot niklay  meray  armaan  laekin  phir  bhi  kam  niklay}.

There is hesitation to say for such people as exact mankind who consider that only this world is everything. Childhood, full age, old age and then death, growing, blooming, fading and then falling, during this period, suffering, indisposition, pauperism, richness, disaster, weakness, so-called strength and so on, every condition has been proclaiming by beat of drum that the world is only the changes of fortune. If it is the whole universe of the human being then he is the most wretched animal, because other animals do here whatever they want to do. More than it; neither they wish and nor are ambitious.

But the humankind makes so much big plans that he did not start working so far according to his plan that his life time was over. He expired while his longings were in his breast. Found from it that it is demand of mankind’s greatness that he should control his desires, because field of the world is not sufficient to fulfill his wishes. He should know his Creator, abide by His prescribed Law and follow His Commandments, keep his duty unto Allah Almighty. He promises that the human being will be given one more life as retaliation of the first, which will never end, and his entire powers will remain intact with him always. He (human being) will be sent in the Gardens, where every individual will be able to fulfill his wishes without let and hindrance as his nature demands.

The existing sense is sufficient to cause to understand so much provided that; it has acquired the Light of Holy Qur’aan.
