Supporters of Infidelity

Surah MAAA-‘IDAH (The Table Spread) – Chapter – 5)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

41a.  O Messenger! Let not those grieve thee who vie one with another in the race to disbelief, of such as say with their mouths: “We believe”, but their hearts believe not, and of the Jews; listeners for the sake of falsehood, listeners on behalf of other folk who come not unto thee,
41a.  Yaaa-‘ayyu-har-Rasuulu  laa  yah-zunkallaziina  yusaari-‘uuna  fil-kufri  minal-laziina  qaaluuu  ‘aamannaa  bi-‘afwaahihim  wa  lam  tu’-min-  quluu-buhum.  Wa  minallaziina  haaduu  Sammaa-‘uuna  lil-kazibi  sammaa-‘uuna  li-qawmin  ‘aakhariina,  lam  ya’-tuuk.

    Commentary

Yusaari-‘uuna – this word is from musaari-‘ah, which means “To run towards anything”. It has been derived from sur-‘at, which means “quickness, hurry”. It aims that they run rapidly. Afwaahun – (the mouths), it is plural of fawh, which means “the mouth”. Sammaa-‘uuna – (the listeners), it is plural of sammaaa’, which is from sama-‘a. Sama-‘a has two meanings i.e. ‘the ear’ and ‘to listen’. Sammaaa’ is the person, who listens to very attentively.

The people, who recite the Holy Qur’aan with attention and think upon its meanings, it is not hidden from them that “Islam teaches the humankind to dwell by mixing up with one another as united and with friendship. It guides that everyone should care mutually, “No harm to anyone from anyone, and help collectively one another mutually themselves, that any difference should not come between them in meeting with one another. And the person, who breaks unity, safety and peace, for him/her ‘Nip the evil in the bud’, so that disturbance and restlessness may not spread in the society due to that person’s wickedness and mischief”. When the humankind would be able to establish this type of system, then it would be understood that now correctly a society has been formed. True form of a society is that, in which evildoers fear from the good-doers. The society cannot be proper until the mischievous people have not as much threat in their hearts that they might not commit any crime due to the fear of their society. This matter has been caused to understand here by various sorts. The biggest law, which has been described in it is, “Support the good people and never help the evildoers”.

The foundation of Islamic society is in obedience of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) heartily. The Holy Qur’aan has explained the ways for the Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) to establish a society and told the tales of those ruined people, who did not go straight way but went astray.
