Commentary
‘Al-muqtasi-miina – (the
dividers), it is the subject from the word ‘iqtasaam, origin of
which is qas-mun. qas-mun means “to divide”. From
the same origin, the words maqsuum and taqsiim etc.
have come out. ‘Iqtasaam means “to divide in each other by
separating the shares”.
‘Iziina – (into
pieces, parts), this word is plural of ‘azu, usually plural of
which is ‘a’-zaa’.
It has been commanded to the
Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) of Allah Almighty:
Your only duty is to cause to understand the people. If they do not accept, let
them mind their own business. When you have explained before them, then you
should be separated from them with patience and say to the disbelievers: I am a
plain Warner, without showing partiality. You will see very soon that those
infidels who have divided the works of preventing from Islam among one another,
and have broken this Holy Qur’aan into parts separately that
“you will accept its some parts and reject other parts”, upon them, the same
anguish has fallen suddenly, from which I was going to warn.
Then Messenger (grace, glory,
blessings and peace be upon him) of Allah Almighty is being commanded: By thy
Lord, We shall question them about their wicked deeds and say! Why did you
disobey Our Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him)?
