Spending money by Disbelievers

Lesson # 412

Spending money by Disbelievers

Surah ‘Aali ‘Imraan (The Family of Imran - 3), Stage – 1,
Verse – 117 of 200, Section – 12 of 20, (Part – 4)

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim
In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

117.  The likeness of that which they spend in this life of the world is as the likeness of a biting, icy wind which smiteth the harvest of a People who have wronged themselves, and devastateth it. And Allah wronged them not, but they do wrong themselves.
117.  Masalu  maa  yunfiquuna  fii haazihil-hayaatid-dunyaa  ka-masli  riihin-  fiihaa  sirrun ‘asaabat  harsa  qaw-min- zala-muuu  ‘anfusahum  fa-‘ahla-kat-h. Wa maa zalama-humUllaahu  wa laakin  ‘anfusahum yazlimuun.

Lesson

The End of the Infidels has been described in this verse that whatever from their wealth; they spend in the world, it would not have any value and worth on the Day of Resurrection, because, due to lack of faith, their every good deed is dead and lifeless.

Thus, its meed would also be expired and they will be given it only in this world. Belief is the protector of acts forever. Likeness of the acts without faith is as someone planted a garden and did not arrange to protect it from the frost. Looking at the garden’s prosperity and greenness, he used to be happy for a few days and rely on it very much. Suddenly a biting, icy wind blows and it smites his entire blooming garden and harvest. That person remained grieving on his destruction and ruin. Neither his hope was fulfilled and nor he could reap any advantage from its production at the time of necessity. This destruction was a punishment of his tyranny and wickedness. Therefore, he will not be able to get any meed/reward on this calamity in the Hereafter.

ka-masli  riihin- (likeness of the wind), Alms and charity, giving by the disbelievers, has been explained as such sudden blasts of wind, which have biting and icy wind. It means, “That wind which becomes cause of suffering and destruction in place of delight and merriment”.  Apparently, the human beings trust in it, but in fact its result comes out opposite.

The disbelievers of Allah Almighty do well (according to their thoughts) and spend money on good deeds. Apparently, the observer expects good results from it but in fact, it is not as such. When best and biggest services of a disloyal and rebellious person cannot save him from the punishment of the crime of violence in the world; then how the disbelievers can be saved from the punishment in the Court of Most Strong Ruler, Allah Almighty?
