Punishment in the world - Quran Chapter 10 – 13 & 14 (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L-1287) - درس قرآن

Quran Chapter 10  13 & 14 (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L-1287) - درس قرآن

Punishment in the world

Surah Yuunus (Jonah) - 10

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

13.  We destroyed the generations before you when they did wrong; and their Messengers (from Allah) came unto them with clear proofs (of His Sovereignty) but they would not believe. Thus do We reward the guilty folk.

14.  Then We appointed you viceroys in the earth after them, that We might see how ye behave.
13.  Wa  laqad  ‘ahlaq-Nal-quruuna  min  qabli-kum  lammaa  zala-muu,  wa  jaaa-‘at-hum  Rusuluhum  bil- Bayyi-naati  wa  maa  kaanuu  li-yu’-minuu.  Kazaalika  Najzil-qawmal-mujrimiin.

14.  Summa  ja-‘alNaakum  khalaaa-‘ifa  fil-‘arzi  mim-ba’-di-him  linanzura  kayfa  ta’-maluun.

Commentary

It is commanded that We have established this manner in the world that the disobedient people are loosened, and for causing to understand them about the Right Path, the Messengers (peace be upon Them) are appointed from them. When even then, they do not refrain from wicked deeds and their eyes are not opened, any heavenly misfortune is sent down on them and they are ruined.

According to the same established order, O the people of Arab: Listen to it and cause to hear the entire world that We destroyed many generations and folks before you, because they had gripped up their loins on tyrannizing and did not refrain from wickedness and immortality.

But it did not happen at once; moreover, at first; Our Messengers (peace be upon them) used to come unto them with Our Revelations and showed them clear proofs, so that they should know that really; they are Messengers of Allah Almighty. Then when notwithstanding, they did not believe and remained entangled in their inebriety, then Our wrath was sent down on them and they were ruined. It is custom with Us to punish the guilty people.

After their destruction, now We have peopled you on the earth. We shall observe; whether you adopt the rebellion also like them or straight way; go forth on the Right Path, for which Our Messenger (grace, blessings and peace of Allah on Him) has guided you.

Crying for help in affliction - Quran Chapter 10 – 12 (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L-1286) - درس قرآن

Quran Chapter 10  12 (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L-1286) - درس قرآن

Crying for help in affliction

Surah Yuunus (Jonah) - 10

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

12.  And if misfortune touch a man he crieth unto Us, (while reclining) on his side, or sitting, or standing, but when We relieve him of the misfortune he goeth his way as though he had not cried unto Us because of a misfortune that afflicted him. Thus their deeds have been made fair-seeming to the prodigal.
12.  Wa  ‘izaa  massal-‘insaanaz-zurru  da-‘aaNaa  lijam-bihii  ‘aw  qaa-‘idan  ‘aw  qaaa-‘imaa.  Falammaa  kashafNaa  ‘anhu  zurrahuu  marra  ka-‘allam  yad-‘uNaaa  ‘ilaa  zurrim-massah.  Kazaalika  zuyyiNa  lil-musri-fiina  maa  kaanuu  ya’-maluun.

Commentary

kashafNaa – (We remove, relieve), it is past tense from kashafa. Kashf means “to open, to manifest, to reveal, the performing of a miracle”. It aims “to relieve of any misfortune”.

Marra – it means “he went his way”. It is also past tense from the word marur. Marur means “passing, going own way, being engaged again in ordinary works, a passage, an avenue”.

‘Al-musri-fiina – (the prodigal, the fearless, the arrogant), it is tense of “the subject”, an adjective and plural of musrif, which means extravagant, prodigal, those who cross the lawful limits and self willed. This word has been derived from israf. Israf means “profusion, waste, squandering, extravagance, prodigality, abuse of wealth”. The word musrif is near to faasiq, which means wicked and immortal person.

It is commanded that the humankind does not be ready to believe in Allah Almighty during the days of prosperity, but when he suffers from any calamity and becomes helpless from all sides; then he cries unto Allah Almighty spontaneously in all conditions, whether he is sitting, standing or reclining on any side; and supplicates for His help.

Allah Almighty commands that when there is no helper and supporter in misfortune, then human being invokes his Lord. And then, when his Creator relieves him of the misfortune, he forgets that he had addressed God Almighty in prayer to remove the misfortune. And forgetting Him is considered by the mankind as an ordinary matter, and he does not understand it that his thankless behavior with The Real Benefactor will be cause of any bigger misfortune.

Quran Chapter 10  11 (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L-1285) - درس قرآن

The Respite

Surah Yuunus (Jonah) - 10

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

11.  If Allah were to hasten on for men the ill (that they have earned) as they would hasten on the good, their respite would already have expired. But We suffer those who look not for the meeting with Us to wander blindly on in their contumacy.
11.  Wa  law  yu-‘ajji-lUllaahu  linnaa-sish-sharras-ti’-jaalahum  bil-khayri  laquzi-ya  ‘ilay-him  ‘ajalu-hum.  Fa-naza-rulla-ziina  laa  yarjuuna  liqaaa-‘anaa  fii  tug-yaani-him  ya’-mahuun.

Commentary

Nazaru – (we suffer, we let go, we set aside), origin of this word is nazarun, which means “to let go, to give up”. So the aim from the word nazaru is “we set aside”.

Ya’-mahuun – (they wander), its origin is ‘amahun, which means “blindness, obscurity, folly”, due to which the right path does not remain visible. Ya’-mahuun means “to wander hither and thither”. This word has passed in Surah ‘Al-Baqarah.

It is commanded that some are such people who demand badness for themselves. So when the Infidels used to frighten from the wrath of Allah Almighty, they used to say: Why do you tell a lie? If you are true then why such wrath does not come? And some of them were so much bold that they used to call Allah Almighty and say: If Islam has been sent by You and it is true; then You should either shower down stones on us or send any other painful doom. (It has passed in Surah ‘Anfaal).

Allah Almighty commands: Say to them! If Allah Almighty had hastened in sending down torment as He causes to rain upon you of distinguishing gifts day and night, then it were very difficult for you to live in the world. Sometimes those people, who are deprived of Belief, begin to curse themselves or others very badly in rage or calamity. If it is done as they say, the world will be over. But the world is to preserve; so that good people may do good works and deserve remuneration in the Hereafter. It is the reason that their imprecations are ignored and they are left careless in their contumacy and inebriety.

Model of human life - Quran Chapter 10 – 9 & 10 Pt 11, Stg 3 L 1284 درس قرآن

Quran Chapter 10  9 & 10 (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L-1284) - درس قرآن

Model of human life

Surah Yuunus (Jonah) - 10

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

After meditating in the previous two verses, the relationship of the human being with the world can be understood clearly. Mankind is a created, actual connection of which is with the heaven, and after creating, he was kept at first there. Because Satan did not bow before the Man (Adam – peace be upon Him), therefore, he tried and got Him flown from the Paradise.

It was commanded that the mankind should be sent out of the Paradise and kept at such place, where he should meet the Devil (Satan) face to face, and whenever he will overcome against Satan, then he should be provided dwelling place in the Paradise. For this purpose He was sent down on the earth (in this world).

The world should be considered as a very vast place of labyrinth, as in the old buildings of mausoleums, some grandee people have constructed places full of wingding. For entrance into them, there are innumerable doors. But as soon as one enters, there are countless complicated paths, out of which, going forth from one path to another doesn’t matter.

These all paths finish at the second end of the world; and the human being, at last, arrives at any door for going out; after wandering hither and thither, and consequently goes out of such labyrinth. It is impossible to come back unto entrance door from those paths, however, every path leads to go out after numberless turns, and as soon as the human being comes out from any door, enters into the Fire.

There is only one such Path which ends at the Paradise, and which; Allah Almighty has manifested by means of His Last Messenger (grace, blessings and peace of Allah be on Him), and its Signs have been described very clearly. Whosoever chose that Path and moved on it, at last he will reach the Paradise certainly.

But other all paths end at the Hell and Satan misleads the human being and puts him unto any path from those. Allah Almighty commanded in the previous last verse: Those people whose hearts have Belief, that is to say; those who are ready wholeheartedly for obeying the commandments of Allah Almighty after knowing Him, He guides them unto that (Straight) Path. Eventually, the Disbelievers, who go astray on other paths, are thrown in the Fire of the Hell.

Commentary

By observing the creatures according to previous verses, it has been determined compulsory that the human being should know Allah Almighty. And it has been commanded clearly that those people who did not know their Creator, but considered that only this world is everything, and passed their lives; being entangled in wickedness, fun and sport in this world, their deeds will carry and cast them into the Fire.

Manifest decision of Holy Qur’aan has been described in this verse that such people who will abide by the prescribed Laws of the Religion; after having belief in Allah Almighty, they will derive benefits in all respect.

Those people who obey the Commandments of Allah Almighty after knowing Him, their abode after death will be first class dwelling places; in which; best things will exist for their use, and Gardens of Delight, underneath which Rivers will be flowing. They will live in peace and safety in the Hereafter for ever, will be very thankful to Allah Almighty, will be praying: Glory be to Thee, our Lord!  And they will reside there with pleasure. There will be no dissatisfaction, quarrel or dispute among them. All occupants of the Paradise will be happy and their greeting with one another will be “Peace”.
