Religion with God is the Surrender (Islam)

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim
In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful
|
Lo! Religion with Allah (is) the Surrender
(Al-Islam) (to His Will and Guidance).
|
‘Innad-Diina ‘indAllaahil-
‘Islaam.
|
Lesson
‘Al- ‘Islaam – ( the Surrender, believing in the religion of God, obedience),
literal meaning of Islam is ‘to surrender oneself’. Due to this respect, this
religion is called “Islam”, because
a Muslim affirms to bow his neck before the commands of Allah Almighty and surrender
himself fully to One Most High God Almighty, as though, Islam is the name of
“Accepting and obeying” and Muslim-hood (Musalmaani) is “the obedience).
Diinun – This word
has two meanings,
a. Retaliation
b. Religion
It means such way of meditation and action;
which is a foundation for consideration and deeds of an individual and a nation.
The Fashion of life; which Allah Almighty has liked for His servants (Human
beings), is Islam, that is to say; subjection and obedience, perfect and last
form of which appeared in the world by means of Messenger Muhammad (grace,
glory, blessings and peace of Allah be upon him).
Although, all former Prophets (peace be upon
them) brought the same religion named Islam and invited their own folks unto
the pure unity of God Almighty by delivering His commands. But in this regard,
which perfect in all respect, collective and universal commands and guidelines
have been passed by the last Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory,
blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), those have preference in many ways
from ancient religious laws. Therefore, these were called with the name of
Islam in a special color. However, it has been proclaimed in this verse before the
Christians specially of Syria (Najraan) and commonly before the entire
world that the religion is only the name of a thing, that is, every person
should surrender himself to Allah Almighty wholeheartedly, and when and which command
one receives from Him, should obey it without any hesitation.
Now those people who say that Prophet Jesus
Christ (peace be upon him) is son of God Almighty (Let us flee to Allah), eat
pork, slaughter the Prophets (peace be upon them), try to remove the true
religion and despite the good news from Prophet Moses and Jesus (peace be upon
them), envy the true Messenger (glory, grace, blessings and peace be upon
them), Have these people any right to say themselves followers of the religion
of Abraham (peace be upon them)?
For the example of perfect obedience, good
attitude of Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him), auspicious lives of Prophet Moses
and Jesus (peace be upon them) and in the last, very sacred life of the last
Messenger, Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)
are complete role models for the humankind. Banishment of Prophet Abraham
(peace be upon him), opposing Namrud, leaving alone His (peace be upon them)
innocent infant and wife in the destitute valley; where water did not exist, for
the pleasure of Allah Almighty, being prepared to sacrifice his son Ishmael (peace
be upon them) in His Way. These entire things describe his (peace be upon him)
activeness in God’s obedience and acceptance of His commands for His pleasure.
Enduring torture of enemies of God Almighty
by the Messenger of Islam (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him),
migrating from his native land, fighting in the Path of Allah Almighty, clarify
perfect subjection and obedience. These are the great and holy persons, who are
imitable for human beings in all respect, and to follow them is called Islam
and obedience. May God Almighty make us able to do so. Amen.
