Never any Prophet said to any humankind: Be ye faithful of me instead of God

Lesson # 375

Never any Prophet said to any humankind: Be ye faithful of me instead of God

Surah ‘Aali ‘Imraan (The Family of Imran - 3), Stage – 1,
Verse – 79a of 200, Section – 8 of 20, (Part – 3)

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim
In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

79a.  It is not (possible) for any human being unto whom Allah had given the Scripture and Wisdom and the Prophethood that he should afterwards have said unto mankind: Be ye faithful of me instead of Allah,

Lesson

‘Ibaadun  (faithful persons, slaves), its singular is ‘Abd. The words Ma’-buud (worshipped), ‘ibaadat (worship) and ‘abuu-diy-yat (obedience of God, devotion, adoration) have been derived from the same word. ‘Abd means Slave and servant, that is to say; the person who is neither independent nor free, but he/she is bound to act as per the instructions of his/her Lord, Master and Ruler.

In the presence of the group from Syria (Najraan), some Christians said, “O Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allah Almighty be upon him)! Do you want that we should begin to worship you as the Christians (Nazarene) adored Jesus Christ (peace be upon him)? Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) answered: God forbid! That, if we worship someone else instead of God Almighty or invite others to do so. Allah Almighty has not sent us for this purpose. Then the verse under discussion was revealed.

It means that the person, whom Allah Almighty gives Scripture, Wisdom and decision power, and he (peace be upon him) acquires the position of Prophet-hood, so that by conveying the correct message of Allah Almighty to the people, he would make them attentive towards His servitude and loyalty. His task can never be so to distract their attention from slavery of One God to make them his own slaves or of any other creature. If he does so then it would be meant that he was not capable for holding the position for which Allah Almighty sent him. Any government of the world thinks two things before appointing someone in a position of responsibility:

1.    Whether this individual has potency to understand the rules of the government and fulfill his duties or otherwise?

2.    To what extent he may be hoped to get implemented the orders of the government and to maintain the loyalty of the people?

No king can appoint any such person as his vicegerent or ambassador; about whom there would be even a little doubt of rebellion. It may be understood from this instance that when the worldly governments are so much cautious, then God Almighty, Who has perfect knowledge about everything, how will He send a person as Messenger, who would become His rebel and despite of telling the people to worship Allah Almighty as God, causes to be done servitude himself?

This verse confutes the belief of Christians that Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) caused to say himself the son of God and made himself a partner in His Godhood or caused to be prostrated before himself.

How can Prophets and Messengers of Allah Almighty (peace be upon them) commit such clear error?
