Quran 3 185 Lesson – 495 The Taste of the Death

Quran 3 - 185 (Lesson – 495)

The Taste of the Death

Surah ‘Aali- ‘Imraan (The Family of Imran -3),

BisMillaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim
In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful
185.  Every soul will taste of death. And ye will be paid on the Day of Resurrection only that which ye have fairly earned. Whoso is removed from the Fire and is made to enter Paradise, he indeed is triumphant. And the life of this world is nothing but a deceptive provision of vanity.
185.  Kullu  nafsin-  zaaa-‘iqatul- mawt.  Wa  ‘innamaa  tu-waffaw-na  ‘ujuurakum  Yawmal-Qiyaamah.  Faman-  zuhziha  ‘aninnaari  wa  ‘ud-khilal-Jannata  faqad  faaz.  Wa  mal-hayaa-tuddun-yaaa  ‘illaa  mataa-‘ul-guruur.

Lesson

Such reality has been manifested in this verse that every living being and soul would have to taste the death one or the other day. The creature, which is born once in the world, mortality/death is compulsory for that. Permanence is not for any existence but Allah Almighty. Although this truth has been cleared earlier, but here it is being mentioned particularly for those people who hold fondly their wealth in their arms instead of spending it in the Way of Allah Almighty and use to collect it heaps over heaps. When they will taste death, their entire wealth and property, gold, silver and money will be dropped down here, in this world and they will be buried in to their graves empty-handed. Neither their wealth can postpone their death, nor can it keep them away from the severe bodily suffering in their graves. Therefore, they should keep the love with Allah’s creature, giving up love of the wealth.

mataa-‘ul-guruur – (a deceptive provision of vanity). Mataa’ means provisions, property, real capital, funds etc. Guruur means deceptive, alluring. The individual, who is boaster, is called proud, haughty or arrogant because he is involved in deception about himself. He imagines something better about himself, which actually he is not.

Accidental spring and pleasantness of life are the things of imposture. Many ignorant people forget their future (the Day of Resurrection) due to exciting beauties and apparent decoration, and make their aim of life only to this world. They wish to get provision and wealth from every source whether that is lawful or unlawful. Selfishness, greed and sensuality become their habit. They consider that success of this world is perhaps actual success, whereas actual success of humankind is to be saved from the torment of God Almighty and to acquire the delight (Paradise). There is No success if one remains out from the Paradise. Working Good, worshiping Allah Almighty and sacrificing make a man deserving of the Paradise.

Quran 3 - 183 & 184 (Lesson – 494)

Quran 3 - 183 & 184 (Lesson – 494)

Improper arguments of the Jews

Surah ‘Aali- ‘Imraan (The Family of Imran -3),

BisMillaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim
In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

183.  (The same are) those who say: Lo! Allah hath ordained us that we believe not in any messenger until he bring us an offering which fire (from heaven) shall devour. Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Messengers came unto you before me with miracles, and with that (very miracle) which ye describe; why then did ye slay them? (Answer that) if ye are truthful!

184.  And if they deny thee, even so did they deny messengers who were before thee, who came with miracles and with the Scriptures and the luminous Book.
183.  ‘Allaziina  qaaluuu  ‘innal-laaha  ‘ahida  ‘ilaynaaa  ‘allaa  nu’-mina  li-Rasuulin  hattaa  ya’-ti-yanaa  bi-qurbaanin- ta’-kuluhun-Naar.  Qul  qad  jaaa-‘akum   rusulum-min-qablii  bil-Bayyinaati  wa  billazii  qultum  falima  qatal-tumuu-hum  ‘in- kintum  saadiqiin.

184.  Fa-‘in-  kazza-buuka  faqad  kuzziba  rusulum-min-  qablika  jaaa-‘uu  bil-Bayyinaati  waz-Zuburi  wal-Kitaabil-Muniir.

Lesson
Qurbaanin – (an offering, a sacrifice), during the ancient times, some Messengers (peace be upon them) were given this miracle that when they used to offer or sacrifice anything in the Name of Allah Almighty, at that time a fire (from heaven) used to devour that particular thing. That devouring of the thing by the fire was considered a sign of acceptance of the offering or sacrifice by Allah Almighty. An event which belonged to Prophet Solomon (peace be upon him) like this has been recorded in the present Bible. The Jews caught an evasion from it and said to the Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) that Allah Almighty has told them that they should not believe in that Prophet (peace be upon him), who does not have this miracle.

It was a false evasion of the Jews. There was no order of this type in any Scripture. Neither it exists today, nor can it be proved in respect of every Prophet (peace be upon him). Allah Almighty has bestowed the miracle to every Prophet (peace be upon him) separately, which were suitable according to his circumstances respectively. Therefore, Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) said to the Jews, “If you are true to your promise and you do not believe in any Prophet (peace be upon him) till the time that you do not see this miracle in to him, then tell me ‘why did you slay those ancient Prophets (peace be upon them), who had brought the tokens of their truth, and they had also this specific miracle? The condition, which is being stipulated by you, that is only a pretense and trick”.

Allah Almighty satisfied His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) that he would not be sad and sorrowful due to those people’s absurd reasoning and perverseness. Many Prophets and Messengers (peace be upon them) were sent before you, who were falsified by the people.

Arrogance of the Children of Israel (L – 493), 3:181&182

Arrogance of the Children of Israel (L – 493),

3:181&182

Surah ‘Aali- ‘Imraan (The Family of Imran -3),
Stage– 1, Verses – 181 & 182 of 200, Section 19 of 20, (Part – 4)

BisMillaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim
In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

181.  Verily Allah heard the saying of those who said, (when asked for contributions to the war): “Allah, forsooth, is poor, and we are rich!” We shall record their saying and their slaying of the Prophets unjustly and We shall say: Taste ye the punishment of burning!

182.  this is on account of that which your own hands have sent before (you to the judgment) and Allah is no Oppress or of (His) bondmen.
181.  Laqad  sami-‘Allaahu  qaw-lallaziina  qaaluuu  ‘innAllaaha  faqii-runw-wa  nahnu  ‘agni-yaaa’.  Sanak-tubu  maa  qaa-luu  wa  qat-lahumul-‘Ambi-yaaa-‘a  bi-gayri  haqqinw-wa  naquulu  zuuquu  ‘azaabal-hariiq.

182.  Zaalika  bimaa  qaddamat  ‘ay-diikum  wa  ‘annAllaaha  laysa  bi-zallaamil-lil-‘abiid.

Lesson

Another shameless villainy of the Children of Israel has been described in this verse. Firstly, they do not expend in the Way of Allah Almighty due to hoarding up. Secondly, whenever they hear the order to expend for the Cause of Allah Almighty, they joke on it and become arrogant of Allah Almighty. When the verse “Man  zallazii  yuq-ri-zUllaaha qar-zan  hasanaaa” (Who is he, who will lend money to Allah without interest, which will be repaid at the pleasure of the borrower) revealed, they said, “Does Allah borrow loan from us? If it is so, then Allah is beggar and poor (Let us flee to God), and we are rich and free.

It needs some close attention here that Allah Almighty named the money as a loan to which will be expended in the good works. Doing so, He proved His perfect Mercy and Kindness. He causes to bear the spending money (which has already been bestowed by Him to us) for our own welfare. He will not get any profit or gain while we shall be spending, then how can it be called “Loan”? It is only His Beneficence that He promises to pay us best retaliation/ remuneration against our expending money for our own welfare and He names it as a loan. But the Jews began to get it as a joke due to their wickedness instead of accepting it as Allah’s Kindness and prated such foolish talk in the Dignity of Allah Almighty. He commands that He has heard their sayings and He shall punish them on their arrogance.

They had been slaying the innocent and sinless Prophets (peace be upon them). As they have spoken rude words on the Superiority of Allah Almighty, likewise they were arrogant in the dignity of the Prophets (peace be upon them) also. Due to this reason, they deserved punishment of burning in the Fire of the Hell.

Hoarding up is worse for them who hoard L – 492

Hoarding up is worse for them who hoard (L – 492)

Surah ‘Aali- ‘Imraan (The Family of Imran -3),
Stage– 1, Verse – 180 of 200, Section 18 of 20, (Part – 4)

BisMillaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

180.  And let not those who hoard up that which Allah hath bestowed upon them of His Bounty think that it is better for them. Nay, It is worse for them. That which they hoard will be their collar on the Day of Resurrection. And Allah’s is the heritage of the heavens and the earth. And Allah is Aware of what ye do.
180.  Wa  laa  yah-sabannal-laziina  yab-khaluuna  bimaaa  ‘aataa-  humullaahu  min-  fazlihii  huwa  khay-rallahum.  Bal  huwa  sharrul-lahum.  Sayu-taw-waquuna  maa  bakhiluu  bihii  Yawmal-Qiyaamah.  Wa  lil-laahi  miraasus-samaawaati  wal-‘arz.  Wallaahu  bimaa  ta’-maluuna  Khabiir.

Primary part of Surah ‘Aali ‘Imraan belonged to the circumstances of the People of the Scripture, (the Jews and the Christians), the event of the Battle of ‘Uhud has been described in the midst of these lessons; for disclosing the condition of the Hypocrites. Now from here, the mention about the People of the Scripture has begun again, because the Jews used to become cause of more harmful to the Muslims and most of the Hypocrites also belonged to this creed.

Allah Almighty commands that those Hypocrites, who out of the Jews escape from the Jihad of Islam, they also shirk from spending their wealth in the Way of Allah Almighty. But as it is not in their favor to get rein for some days in the world due to evading from the religious crusade, in such a way, hoarding by stinginess cannot be useful for them. On the Day of Resurrection, this treasure, which they have collected by hoarding, shall become their collar in the form of torment.

The Muslims have also been warned that they should not slip away from paying Zakaat (Alms and charity) and other necessary expenditures in the path of religion. Otherwise, the person, who will adopt the custom of Hypocrites by hoarding, he also will be punished in such a manner. It has come in the Sayings of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), that those persons, who do not pay the poor-due (Zakaat), their treasures will be put in their collars like a frightful large serpent.

Allah Almighty has told a determined truth that, “Allah’s is the heritage of the heavens and the earth”. After death, you will leave everything in this world. Therefore, everything will remain in the possession of Allah Almighty. If any person expends for the cause (in the Way) of Allah Almighty, then yours will be a vast reward. Allah Almighty knows intentions and deeds of everybody. He recognizes that who hoards and who is generous. He will grant retaliation according to the deeds. So, every person should expend with stout heart in the Way of Allah Almighty.

Wisdom of Allah Almighty L – 491

Wisdom of Allah Almighty (L – 491)

Surah ‘Aali- ‘Imraan (The Family of Imran -3),
Stage– 1, Verse – 179 of 200, Section 18 of 20, (Part – 4)

BisMillaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim
In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

179.  It is not (the purpose) of Allah to leave you in your present state till He shall separate the wicked from the good. And it is not (the purpose of) Allah to let you know the Unseen, but Allah chooseth of His Messengers whom He will, (to receive knowledge thereof). So believe in Allah and His Messengers. And if ye believe and ward off (evil), yours will be a vast reward
179.  Maa  kaanAllaahu  li-yazaral-Mu’-miniina  ‘alaa  maaa  ‘antum  ‘alayhi  hattaa  yamiizal-khabiisa  minat-tayyib.  Wa  maa  kaanAllaahu  li-yutli-‘akum  ‘alal- gaybi  wa  laa-kinnAllaaha  yajtabii  mir-Rusulihii  many-yashaaa’.  Fa-‘aaminuu  Billaahi  wa  Rusulih.  Wa  ‘in- tu’-minuu  wa    tatta-quu  falakum  ‘ajrun  ‘aziim.

Lesson

It was told in the previous verse that which further rein of prosperity has been given to the Infidels, that is not a proof that they have become graceful near Allah Almighty. Now it is being described, “It is not true also that the Muslims have suffered from disasters and unpleasant events, therefore they have incurred displeasure of Allah Almighty. Actually, Allah Almighty does not desire to keep the Muslims always in their present condition, in which state they remained until now”. That is to say, many Infidels used to play the game of hypocrisy in the cloak of Muslim-hood. They have been staying on infidelity while they used to recite ‘Kalimah’ (the Muslim confession of faith), “Laa ‘ilaaha ‘illAllaahu, Muhammad-ur-RasuulAllaah” (there is no (other God) but Allah, and Muhammad is His apostle) (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) from their mouths. And they remained mixed up with the Muslims to deceive them. Moreover, Allah Almighty produced such circumstances to save the Muslims from the deception of Hypocrites, due to which, it might be distinguished between the pure and the impure, and separated the good from the bad.

Although, it was very easy for Allah Almighty to disclose the names of Hypocrites without putting the entire Muslims in trial, but it is not suitable according to the Knowledge and sagacity of Allah Almighty, that He should manifest such confidential matters to the entire people. However, He has chosen Messengers/Prophets out of the humankind for this purpose and told them the knowledge of mysteries as much as He wished.

It also appears from this verse that the knowledge of mysteries is not delivered directly to the entire people, but only to the Prophets and Messengers, (peace be upon them). Your only duty is to, “Believe in the Word of Allah Almighty (Holy Qur’aan), Sayings of His last Messenger Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and adopt the life of sobriety. If you did so, then you should comprehend that you have gotten everything. Then there will be a great reward for you”.

Purchasing disbelief at the price of Faith (L – 490)

Purchasing disbelief at the price of Faith (L – 490)

Surah ‘Aali- ‘Imraan (The Family of Imran -3),
Stage– 1, Verses – 177 & 178 of 200, Section 18 of 20, (Part – 4)

BisMillaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim
In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

177.  Those who purchase disbelief at the price of faith harm Allah not at all, and theirs will be a painful doom.

178.  And let not those who disbelieve imagine that the rein We give them bodeth good unto their souls. We only give them rein that they may grow in sinfulness. And theirs will be a shameful doom.
177.  ‘Innal-laziinash-tarawul-kufra  bil-‘iimaani  lany-yazur-rUllaaha  shay-‘aa.  Wa  lahum  ‘azaabun  ‘aliim.

178.  Wa  laa  yah-sabannal-laziina  kafaruuu  ‘annamaa  numlii  lahum  khayrul-li-‘an-fusihim.  ‘Innamaa  numlii  lahum  li-yaz-daaduuu  ’ismaa.  Wa  lahum  ‘azaabum-muhiin.

Lesson

‘ash-taraw – (they purchased), it also means ‘to sell as well as to purchase’ but here it aims to purchase. That is to say, they left Belief and Faith, and adopted infidelity and denial.

Muhiin – (shameful, wretched), this word has been derived from the word ‘ahaanat, which means insult, disgrace, suffering from shame or dishonor. O our Lord! Save the entire Believers and Muslims from this kind of torment.

Before these verses, Satan and the devils were being discussed that they plan to frighten the Believers with their different vicious and terrifying managements, but it is compulsory for the Believers that they should not have any fear in their hearts except Allah Almighty. The devils run easily unto infidelity, disbelief and insurrection; leaving Faith and Islam. Their attempts of this kind can never harm Allah Almighty.

Noor-e-Khuda hae kufr ki harkat pe khanda zan
Phoonkuun se yeh charaagh, bujhaya na jae ga

(The Light of God is smiling on the act of infidelity
This Lamp would never be extinguished with blows)

Now it is being commanded again that those people have purchased infidelity and disbelief at the price of faith. Doing so, they can never harm Allah Almighty, His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) or His religion. Opposite to this, they will suffer from painful doom. If Allah Almighty has given them some rein, then they should not be proud that this rein bodes well for their souls. The rein of punishment is not favorable for them. But Allah Almighty only gives them rein that they may grow in sinfulness. Moreover, they will be fallen into a shameful doom.

Terror of the Devil (L – 489)

Terror of the Devil (L – 489)

Surah ‘Aali- ‘Imraan (The Family of Imran -3),
Stage– 1, Verses – 175 & 176 of 200, Section 18 of 20, (Part – 4)

BisMillaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim
In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

175.  It is only the Devil who would make (men) fear his partisans. So fear them not; and fear Me, if ye are true Believers.

176.  Let not their conduct grieve thee, who run easily to disbelief, for lo! they injure Allah not at all. It is Allah’s Will to assign them no portion in the Hereafter, and theirs will be an awful doom.
175.  ’Innamaa  zaalikumush-Shay-taanu  yukhaw-wifu  ‘awli-yaaa-‘ah.  Falaa  takhaa-fuuhum  wa  khaafuuNi  ‘in-  kuntum-Mu’-miniin.

176.  Wa  laa  yah-zunkal-laziina  yusaari-‘uuna  fil-kufr.  ‘Inna-hum  lany-yazurrUllaaha  shay-‘aa.  Yurii-dUllaahu  ‘allaa  yaj-‘ala  lahum  hazzan-  fil-‘Aakhirah.  Wa  lahum  ‘azaabun  ‘aziim.

Lesson

Yukhaw-wifu  - (frightens, terrifies), this word has been derived from khawf, that is to say; the fear and concern about the future. Devilish temptations perplex and make the human being anxious always about his future. The words takhaa-fuuhum  and  khaafuuni  in this lesson have been derived from the same origin ‘Khawf,’ which means fear and terror.

‘Awli-yaaa-‘ahu – (his partisans),. Singular of this word is walii, which means “friend, helper and supporter”. Due to suitableness of this word’s meanings, the pious and good persons are called ‘awli-yaaa-‘Allaah (God’s friends).

yusaari-‘uuna – (they run easily), the words sur-‘at, sarii’ etc. are from the same origin. Its literal meanings are, “they make haste, they run and hasten”.

Hazzan – (advantage, benefit), haz means “pleasure, portion and profit etc.”

Allah Almighty commands the Muslims that the person, who wants to inspire the awe about your enemy by means of spreading the false news, is a Devil’s disciple and misled by Satan. His aim is to frighten you by inspiring with their terror. Therefore, if you believe (certainly you are Believers), you should not fear them, but fear Me.

Hypocrites run easily unto disbelief due to his false news. You should neither be grieved and nor thoughtful. Neither they can harm the Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), nor they can damage the Religion of Allah Almighty, but they have been harming themselves only. It is Allah’s Will to assign them no portion in the Hereafter as retaliation of their hypocrisy, and an awful doom is waiting for them in the Hereafter.

The Grace of Allah (L – 488)

The Grace of Allah (L – 488)

Surah ‘Aali- ‘Imraan (The Family of Imran -3),
Stage– 1, Verse – 174 of 200, Section 18 of 20, (Part – 4)

BisMillaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim
In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

174.  So they returned with grace and favour from Allah, and no harm touched them. And they followed the good Pleasure of Allah, and Allah is of Infinite Bounty.
174.  Fan-qalabuu  bi-ni’-matim-minAllaahi  wa  fazlil-lam-  yam-sas-hum  suuu-‘unw-wat-taba-‘uu  RizwaanAllaah.  Wallaahu  Zuu-fazlin  ‘Aziim.

Lesson

Messenger of Allah Almighty reached the place named ‘Hamraa’ul ‘Asad’ with the Army of Muslim crusaders to follow Abu Sufiyan. Distance of this place is eight miles from Madinah. When Abu Sufiyan heard that the Muslims are following him, his heart was terrified severely. He postponed the idea of attack and ran away towards Makkah. Occasionally a group of traders of Abdul Qais was proceeding to MadinahAbu Sufiyan excited them by enticing something; to remove his humiliation; that they should publicize such news after reaching Madinah, as hearing the news; the Muslims should be overawed and frightened. The people of that caravan began to say after reaching Madinah that, ‘The people of Makkah have prepared a very huge Army to ruin the Muslims’. Hearing this news, excitement of faith increased in the hearts of the Muslims more than earlier instead of frightening, and they began to say after hearing the state of Infidels’ Army, “Allah is sufficient for us opposite to the entire world! Most Excellent is He in Whom we trust”. These feelings of the Muslims and their rewards have been described in this verse.

Another narrative exists also in connection with the reason of revelation of these verses. That is, “At the end of the Battle of ‘UhudAbu Sufiyan announced that the battle will be fought again next year at the place of Badr. You should be ready”. The Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) accepted this challenge. When the next year came, he (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) commanded the people to come out for Jihad (religious crusade).

On the other side, Abu Sufiyan left Makkah with his Army. He traveled some distance but lost his courage and as soon as he heard the preparation of the Muslims, their awe prevailed over him. Therefore, he wanted to go back to Makkah and evade regarding famine but he thought that it should be dealt with a plan that the Muslims should be blamed. By chance, a person was proceeding towards MadinahAbu Sufiyan tempted him for anything and said, “Proclaim such news after reaching Madinah, due to which the Muslims should be frightened and they do not come out for war”. This person arrived at Madinah and began to announce the news that the people of Makkah have collected very large number of Army and it would not be better for the Muslims to fight against them. But Allah Almighty strengthened the intentions of Muslims. They said, “Allah is sufficient for us”. Eventually, the Muslims reached the battlefield of Badr according to the promise but the Infidels did not arrive for the battle. A very heavy market used to establish there. Therefore, the Muslims remained there for three days, earned very well profit in trade and returned to Madinah.

The Last & Final Commandments Lesson 487 درس قرآن Faith instead of fear

The Last & Final Commandments Lesson 487 درس قرآن

Faith instead of fear

Surah ‘Aali- ‘Imraan (The Family of Imran -3),
Stage– 1, Verses – 172 & 173 of 200, Section 18 of 20, (Part – 4)

BisMillaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim
In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

172.  As for those who heard the call of Allah and His Messenger after the harm befell them (in the fight); for such of them as do right and ward off (evil), there is great reward.

173.  Those unto whom men said: Lo! the people have gathered against you, therefore fear them; (the threat of danger) but increased the faith of them and they said: Allah is sufficient for us! Most Excellent is He in Whom we trust!
172.  ‘Allaziinas-tajaabuu  Lil-laahi  war-Rasuuli  mim-  ba’-di  maaa  ‘asaaba-humul-qarhu  lil-laziina  ‘ah-sanuu  minhum  watta-qaw  ‘ajrun  ‘aziim.

173.  ‘Allaziina  qaala  lahumun-naasu  ‘innan-naasa  qad  ja-ma-‘uu  lakum  fakh-shawhum  fazaadahum  ‘iimaanaa  wa  qaaluu  hasbunAllaahu  wa  Ni’-mal-Wakiil.

Lesson

An event has been described as the purpose of the revelation of these verses:

During the Battle of ‘Uhud, the Muslims slumbered and then they stopped against the enemy being refreshed. A very furious fight took place in the battlefield. After suffering a defeat, the Idolaters of Makkah ran away. Abu Sufiyan was chieftain of that Army. He stopped in the way while they were returning to Makkah and thought in his heart, “We have made a big mistake that we have left the Muslims who were defeated and injured. It was better that they would have been finished today”. They began to consult one another and finalized, “Let’s go back to Madinah and finish the Muslims”.

When the Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) heard this news that Abu Sufiyan was thinking to attack on the Muslims again, he (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) publicized in Madinah, “Get those people ready to follow the enemy today, who were our colleagues yesterday in the battlefield of ‘Uhud”.

The Muslim crusaders had been injured severely in the battlefield. They had been wounded deadly. Apparently, they did not have strength to fight now. But listening to the call of God’s Apostle (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allah Almighty be upon him), they got ready at once. Allah Almighty has mentioned about those good servants in this verse.

Having too much wounds on their bodies, the Crusaders of Islam did not confuse in their minds, prepared themselves without any delay upon one call of the Messenger of God Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him). For such good-natured and abstinent of them, there is great reward.
